Another season over and I have to say it was my most successful season ever, filed with a lot of first. My first full race season, my first World Cups, my first Olympic games and qualifying for my first pursuit. I raced my last world cup race in Oslo, Norway on March 18th, shooting was great I hit 9/10 but my ski speed was just not there, I ended up 67th, just outside of making the pursuit! Because of how much training I have missed over the past couple years my ski speed is not very consistent yet. One weekend I will feel amazing on my skis and then 5 days later feel like someone has replaced my legs with a ton of bricks. This is the first time that I will enter May really excited to start training. To see what I can accomplish with a full summer and fall of training.
There are so many people who have been with me on my journey in sport.
To my family, your support was always unwavering and without you I could not have made it as far as I have. You picked me up when I fell down, always ready with a hug and kind words, you helped me celebrated when I accomplished my goals. I love you all and am excited to bring you along for the ride to Russia!
To my friends, thanks for understanding when I say I need to go to bed at 9 and then rallying the troops when I say I need to go dancing!
To my teammates, you are my best friends and my family. We have shared many a dream together and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. To those who have decided to follow the next chapter of your life, you will be missed and always there in spirit with us!
To my amazing sport psych, you helped keep my head in the game. You became my second mom and one of my best friends! Heres to the next four years!
To my support staff, coaches, wax techs, physio therapist, chiropractor and massage therapist, your support and contribution have helped me get where I am. You were always there to push me to my limits and give me a kick in the butt when I needed it! Thank you!
To my sponsors, thanks for joining my team and coming along for the journey. Without your help I would be a pair of skis with no wax!
Spring is just around the corner, April will go by in a blur and before I know it, it will be time to start training again, and I am happy to say that I can’t wait!
